johnny chiu - Founder

  • Johnny Chiu is multilingual.

    As the founder of JC. Architecture & Design and OUT Scholarship, he is fluent in turning concepts into real-life work, enlivening the visions for the curious. Recognized for this fresh perspective, Johnny is the first Taiwanese designer to win the World Architecture Festival/INSIDE World Interior of the Year.

    Having lived in Taiwan and New Zealand and worked across the globe, Johnny's knowledge and styling are reflected in his design languages. Fluent in expressing his ideas, Johnny's provocative and unconventional vocabulary has made him a notable figure in defining design in Asia.

    Always looking into the future to see how architecture and design should be, his adventure touches various disciplines and speaks through remarkable projects such as The Moving Kitchen for Taiwan Railway, Bloom Chair for Kobe Leather, A Little Museum Store for Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Penghu Ferry for Taiwan Maritime & Port Bureau.

    With many exciting works often featured on both domestic and international media outlets including CNN, Vogue, France's Le Monde and Italy's DDN Magazine, Johnny has also appeared at many acclaimed design acts, and universities and participated in podcasts such as Columbia University GSAPP. At the same time, he has given talks at events namely World Architecture Festival, DESIGNART Tokyo Creative Conference Bridge, and most recently, SHARE Interiors Bucharest Forum as a Keynote Speaker.

    身為 JC. Architecture & Design 和 OUT Scholarship 的創辦人，他擅長將概念實現於現實生活，將好奇心轉化為遠見。以這一獨特視角，邱柏文贏得世界建築節/ INSIDE 年度世界室內設計獎的肯定，成為台灣設計師中的第一人。

    曾在台灣、紐西蘭和日本等國家生活和工作，他的設計語言中充滿豐富的知識和風格。邱柏文能清晰流暢表達自己的思想，挑戰非傳統的詞彙，使其成為亞洲設計界的傑出代表。

    他始終展望未來，了解建築和設計的演變方向，他的冒險經歷跨足不同領域，將設計中的不可能變成可能，如台灣鐵路的鳴日廚房、神戶皮革的 BLOOM 椅、台北市立美術館紀念品商店和台灣航港局的澎湖渡輪。

nora wang - CO-Founder

  • Nora Wang is the Co-founder and Design Director of JC. Architecture & Design. She is currently a lecturer in the Interior Design Department of Chung Yuan University and a lecturer in the Design Department of National Taiwan Normal University.

    Nora is also the co-designer of renowned projects such as JCA Living Lab, which won the 2019 WAF/INSIDE World Interior Design Festival Award, and The Moving Kitchen, which was awarded the 2023 iF DESIGN Gold Award.

    Together with Johnny, they launched the OUT Scholarship in 105 to encourage students to explore abroad and return home to share, discuss, and cultivate a new generation of design talents in Taiwan.
